About camp choice bc

It started with a vision...

BC Camp Choice Society began as an notforprofit society in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. A governing board of five founding directors, an executive leadership team and members-at-large.

As a board our mission is to fulfil the purpose of the camp, to "empower youth to create positive change in themselves and their communities by realizing the power of choice, responsibility and their effectiveness as positive leaders."

The original Camp Choice has been operating successfully just outside of San Francisco, California, USA for the past 20 years.

It was in November of 2015, Carolyn Dunlop and Liz Young were called to bring Camp Choice to Canada. After several meetings and consultations with the Camp Choice directors and facilitators in California, they were given the go ahead to "set up camp" in British Columbia and in September 2016 Camp Choice BC was born.
